The flower fields in Carlsbad, California are a huge attraction every year during spring time in San Diego. It’s no wonder why….imagine 50 acres of nothing but rows of vivid, bold, beautiful, fresh, exquisite flowers. From afar, it looks as if a rainbow has landed and is laying flat on the earth. The Carlsbad flower fields is the only commercial Ranunclulus field in the world that is open the public (the Ranunclulus is a beautiful full, bright flower…see photo below).
The flower fields officially opened on March 1, and the season will go through May 11, 2008. It is open to the public seven days a week from 9am to 6pm, and rates are $9 for adults and $5 for children (2 and under are free). If you want to take a wagon ride, it is $4 for adults and $3 for children. Click here for tickets.

If you are an artist – come and sketch, a writer – come to be inspired, a green thumb – well just come to enjoy! Personally, I cannot wait to get out there and take some pictures.
