As you may know, the 2008 U.S. OPEN Championship is set to take place at Torrey Pines South Golf Course, from June 9 to June 15, in La Jolla, CA, with an expected attendance of 40,000 spectators per day, making this a huge week in San Diego! Individual face value tickets are sold out for this event, but that does not mean tickets are not available elsewhere. Torrey Pines Golf Course is located in La Jolla, CA, a gorgeous coastal town in San Diego. The course is situated on an oceanfront bluff, with spectacular and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean. If you are visiting the area and not a golfer, Torrey Pines State Reserve is worth visiting. It remains one of the wildest stretches of land on the Southern California coast. There are 8 miles of trails, a visitor center, and guided nature walks on weekends and holidays. This is a perfect thing to do for a day with the family!
